'La sang no és del grat de la Pau...'

 'Eirene' ('Peace') is a comedy written by the Greek playwright Aristophanes in the year 421 BC. Set in the real conflict between Athens and Sparta, its protagonist, the farmer Trygaeus, is tired of the hardships that the disputes between the two cities brings to the most humble ones. For that reason, he decides to fly with a giant dung beetle to Mount Olympus to ask the gods to finalize the hostilities (scene that parodies the typical image of the hero riding with Pegasus, the winged horse). There he will discover that War has seized power and imprisoned the Peace. In the end, the unlikely 'hero' manages to free Peace and marries her friend Opora ('Harvest').

Situada durante el conflicto real entre Atenas y Esparta, su protagonista, el labrador Trigeo, está cansado de los males que conllevan las disputas entre las dos ciudades a los más humildes. Por este motivo, decide volar con un escarabajo pelotero gigante hacia el monte Olimpo para pedir a los dioses que finalicen las hostilidades (escena que parodia la imagen típica del héroe montando a Pegaso, el caballo alado). Allí descubrirá que Guerra ha tomado el poder y a aprisionado la Paz. Al final, el improbable 'héroe' consigue liberar la Paz y casarse con su compañera Opora ('Cosecha').

Allà descobrirà que Guerra ha pres el poder i a empresonat a la Pau. A la fi, l'improbable 'heroi' aconsegueix alliberar la Pau i casar-se amb la seva companya Opora ('Collita').
