I recently finished reading Franz Kafka's unfinished novel 'The Castle' ('Das Schloss' in the original German), and as a tribute, I couldn't resist creating this illustration of 'K', its protagonist. Despite what critics and experts might say, I refuse to believe that this character isn't a reflection of Kafka himself, so I've given him a certain resemblance to him (by the way, Timothée Chalamet is taking forever to star in a film about the author!). Regarding the novel itself, Kafka is a genius at creating characters and crafting dialogue, all of which are very modern and dynamic. The novel is the embodiment of the myth of Sisyphus in pages, but it's clear that it's a work in progress, with some rather cumbersome passages (although this could also have been Kafka's intention, of course: To create a novel that functions like a hamster wheel of life!).
